Haskew Christmas

One of my favorite things about Christmas Eve at Big Mama's is getting to play with all my little cousins and spend time with family. Here's Robert with my cousin Andrew. They kinda look alike in this picture!

And Caden was in the holiday spirit dressed in his Santa hat.

There are two main family traditions at the Haskew Christmas Eve Celebration. One is to eat cocktail shrimp. The other is to play dirty santa (and, yes, it's dirty - as you'll see from the pics below).

Allyson got a toilet seat complete with the newspaper.

Dad got a half-dressed garden gnome which Robert got an up close and personal look at courtesy of Victoria. Robert drew a lovely figurine of old ladies. As you can see, it was the highlight of his evening.

And, of course, David unwrapped a "dirty" diaper. I think the "dirty" was a chocolate bar, but I sure didn't confirm that.

My little cousin Hannah wore this super cute pick cameo hat. We had lots of fun being silly.

Santa made a surprise visit after dinner and brought some toys to all the kiddos. Everyone was so excited, including myself. The weather was bad that night and some of the kids were pretty worried Santa might have some trouble making all his stops, but even threats of tornadoes didn't keep him away.

Santa brought Victoria some barbies, but I think Kyle and Ryan played with them more than she did!

Kyle gave Big Mama three very pretty canisters pre-filled with lots of yummy nuts. She was pretty excited about them.

Ryan enjoyed wheeling around his little cousins in Big Mama's scooter. We should have had in parallel park the thing to get ready for his driving test in February!

At some point during the evening I looked at the tree and noticed a shirtless Big Daddy was looking down on all our revelry! How appropriate! :)
